من افشین اسانلو از فعالین جنبش کارگرى ایران و راننده اتوبوس حمل و نقل بین شهرى هستم و هم اکنون در زندان گوهردشت کرج (رجایى شهر) به سر میبرم . به مدت پنج ماه در سلولهاى انفرادى ٢٠۹… شکنجه‌هایى نظیر زدن کابل به کف پا، وادار کردن به دویدن با همان پاهای زخمى و کابل خورده ، بازجویی‌های طولانى مدت به مدت هفده – هجده ساعت، فحش‌های رکیک و ضرب و شتم این جانب به صورت دسته جمعى که باعث شکسته شدن چند تا از دنده ها و همین طور دندانهایم شد

این نامه ، نوشته کارگر زندانى افشین اسانلو (برادر منصور اسانلو) از زندان گوهردشت است. وى فعال کارگرى و یکى از اعضاى سندیکاى شرکت واحد تهران است.

این نامه توسط کمیته مبارزه براى آزادى زندانیان سیاسى در ایران/ کمپین براى آزادى کارگران زندانى ترجمه شده و برای بسیاری از نهادهای بین المللی و کارگری ارسال شده است. هم چنین نامه هایی نیز به حمایت از افشین اسانلو تهیه شده که نمونه هایی از آن در زیر آمده است.

من افشین اسانلو از فعالین جنبش کارگرى ایران و راننده اتوبوس حمل و نقل بین شهرى هستم و هم اکنون در زندان گوهردشت کرج (رجایى شهر) به سر میبرم . در پاییز ١٣۸۹ هنگام استراحت در خوابگاه مخصوص رانندگان مستقر در ترمینال مسافرى توسط افراد مسلح که همگى لباس شخصى بودند ربوده و به بند وزارت اطلاعات یا همان بند ٢٠۹ زندان اوین منتقل شدم. به مدت پنج ماه در سلولهاى انفرادى ٢٠۹ در زندان اطلاعات شهر سنندج تحت بازجویى و شکنجه قرار گرفتم. شکنجه‌هایى نظیر زدن کابل به کف پا، وادار کردن به دویدن با همان پاهای زخمى و کابل خورده ، بازجویی‌های طولانى مدت به مدت هفده – هجده ساعت، فحش‌های رکیک و ضرب و شتم این جانب به صورت دسته جمعى که باعث شکسته شدن چند تا از دنده ها و همین طور دندانهایم شد. در طى این پنج ماه خانواده ام هیچ گونه خبرى از من نداشته و پیگیری هایشان هم به جایى نرسید. به من حتى اجازه تلفن زدن به مادر سالخورده و رنج کشیده که غم زندانى شدن پسر دیگرش آقاى منصور اسانلو رئیس هیئت مدیره سندیکاى شرکت واحد تهران را هم بر دوش می کشید را هم ندادند.

من متاهل و داراى دو فرزند پسر می باشم و از همان آغاز تشکیل خانواده به مدت ٢ سال در قرارگاه سازندگى خاتم الانبیا سپاه مشغول به کار شدم و به عنوان راننده ماشین الات سنگین در شهرستانهاى محروم و جنگزده در جنوب کشور در پروژه هاى مهم از قبیل ساخت خط خاکى کرخه و اسکله سنگى بندر ماهشهر، کانال کشى آب از سد کرخه تا حمیده اهواز کار کردم. عشق به وطن باعث میشد که دورى از خانواده را تحمل کنم و به هیچ بگیرم. بعد از دو سال با تمام رانندگانى که استخدام‌شان قراردادى و موقت بود تسویه حساب کردند و همه ما بیکار شدیم. در سال ١٣٧۶ به استخدام شرکت واحد اتوبوسرانى تهران در آمدم . در شلوغ ترین خطوط اتوبوسرانى به صورت ١٢ ساعت در روز و یا در خطوط شبانه روزى با تمایل و درخواست خودم مشغول خدمت رسانی به مردم کشورم شدم. در مدت ۴ سالى که در شرکت واحد بودم همواره به همراه کارگران و رانندگان صدیق و با سابقه در کنار کار روزانه به جهت بهبود شرایط کار و کارآمد تر شدن سیستم مدیریتى و جلوگیرى از فساد خیلى از مدیران و مسئولین بخش‌ها و مناطق مختلف به شرکت و حتى خود نمایندگان شوراى اسلامى کار و پیگیرى معوقه های عیدى و پاداش و بن هاى کارگرى ، لباس کار و یا قرارگرفتن شرکت جزء مشاغل سخت و زیان آور و از بین بردن قرارداهای موقت که در بعضى از موارد به ۴ الی ۵ سال هم میرسید تلاش میکردم .

با اینکه در خیلى موارد موفق هم نمی شدیم ولى خارى بودیم در چشم زیاده خواهان. آنها تلاش می کردند به هر نحوى که شده ما را از میدان به در کنند. ما دائما از سوى مدیریت و مامورانشان تحت فشار و تهدید به اخراج بودیم.

متاسفانه در سال ١٣۸٠ به هنگام جابجایى مسافر در یکى از خطوط شرکت واحد با فردى تصادف کردم که موجب فوت وى شد. در این رابطه از مدیریت شرکت طلب مساعدت و یاری جهت تودیع دیه فرد متوفى را کردم که مدیریت و مددکارى وقت آن زمان با تبانى با شرکت بیمه و خانواده متوفى به عمد باعث شدند که مبلغ دیه ١۵ میلیون تومانى در آن زمان به هجده میلیون در سال بعد تبدیل شود که در صورت پرداخت نشدن مبلغ ٣ میلیون تومان مابه التفاوت من به زندان میافتادم و قانونا بیمه هم از پرداخت این مبلغ معاف بود.

مراجعه به اداره کار و طرح شکایت هم راه به جایى نبرد تا اینکه مدیریت شرکت واحد پرداخت این مبلغ را منوط به استعفاى من کردند. و من هم که این مقدار پول را نداشتم مجبور به استعفا شدم . این امر باعث به هدر رفتن چهار سال سابقه کاری ام شد و من می بایست پس از ۴ سال کار سخت و طاقت فرسا از صفر شروع میکردم. آنها به این وسیله لطمه بزرگى به من و خانواده‌ام وارد آوردند و تا مدتها همسرم که در آن زمان باردار هم بود به بیماری عصبى مبتلا شد. از آن زمان به بعد تا لحظه دستگیری در بخش حمل و نقل برون شهرى مشغول به کار شدم. خصوصى بودن مالکیت این ناوگان عظیم و دیر بودن پیش از پیش رانندگان از سهم و نداشتن اتحادیه قوى و مستقل مانند بسیارى از رانندگان زحمتکش و باشرف به سختى چرخه زندگى را میچرخاندیم و با مشکلات بی‌شمارى روبرو بودیم و غالبا با گفتگو و همفکرى با دیگر راننگان در پى بهتر شدن شرایط کار و زندگیمان بودیم. در زندگى همواره در چهارچوب قانون و احترام به آن زندگى کرده ام، قانع بوده و به کارم افتخار میکردم. سعى کردم همواره به دیگران احترام بگذارم و به وطن ومردمم عشق بورزم و تمام عمر در حال کار و خدمت به جامعه ام باشم و فرزندانم را خوب و مفید تربیت کنم.

بعد از حدود یکسال بلاتکلیفى در بندهاى ٢٠۹ و ٣۵٠ در شعبه ١۵ دادگاه انقلاب به ریاست قاضى صلواتی به اتهام اقدام علیه امنیت محاکمه شدم. در پروسه دادرسى ازداشتن وکیل محروم بودم و دادگاهى این جانب ظرف چند دقیقه انجام گرفت و بعد از یک هفته حکم ۵ سال حبس تعزیرى به من ابلاغ شد. من به حکم صادره اعتراض نمودم اما هیچگاه به من و خانواده ام در خصوص بررسى پرونده ام در دادگاه تجدید نظر و کم و کیف آن اطلاعى داده نشد. من به اتهام واهى و بى پایه و اساسى به ۵ سال زندان محکوم شدم که دقیقا ٢ سال آن را گذرانده ام مگر من چه اقدامى علیه امنیت کشور انجام داده ام؟ اینجانب نه فعالیت سیاسی می کرده ام و نه وابسته به گروه حزب و سازمانى بوده ام و تمامى فعالیت اینجانب نیز قانونى و صنفى بوده است.

تنها گناه من پیگیری خواسته هاى به حقى است که کارگران شرکت واحد به آن واقف شده و آن را مطالبه می کنند . با دستگیرى و زندانى کردن آنها این خواسته ها از بین نمی رود. ضرورتهایى مانند به وجود آمدن یک نهاد صنفى مستقل کارگرى جهت احقاق حقوق حقه و قانونى طبق موازین وزارت کار در جهت تامین امنیت شغلى ، بهبود دستمزدها متناسب با میزان تورم، جلوگیرى از پرداخت سلیقه اى حقوق و مزایا، عقد قراردادهای دائم بین کارگر و کارفرما، پایبند کردن دولت در کمک و تسهیل پرداخت بیمه تامین اجتماعى، نظارت در تعاونیهاى حمل و نقل که دیگر کاملا خصوصى شده و انحصاری بهره برداری می شود و تنها نام تعاونى را یدک میکشند؛ غیر قابل انکار میباشد. همچنین نظارت در پیگیرى اعمال پلیس راهها ونیروى انتظامى در وزارت راه و ترابرى و مسائل صنفى از این دست که طبق موازین قانون کار بوده و اگر اجرایى شود نه تنها امنیت ملى به خطر نمیافتد بلکه سبب رشد و بهره ورى هر چه بیشتر این صنعت سود ده و ملى میشود.

تمام جرم من و امثال من خلاصه شده در واگویى این مسایل و معضلات و مطرح شدن آن در بین رانندگان و کارگران و حتى بعضى مدیران هوشمند و لایق ناوگان حمل و نقل کسانى که به واقع گوشه ای از چرخ صنعت این مملکت را دلسوزانه بدوش گرفته و میچرخانند. این جانت با شرح مطالب گفته شده از فدراسیون بین المللى کارگران حمل و نقل(آ تى اف) و سازمان جهانى کار (آ ال او) که همواره دلسوزانه و برادرانه دردها و رنجهاى برادران خود را در سراسر دنیا شنیده و درک کرده و همیاری میکنند میخواهم که وضعیت نابسامان ما کارگران بخش حمل و نقل و همینطور صدور چنین حکم ناعادلانه اى برای من و اجرایى کردن آن که تاکنون به ناحق و غیر قانونى است را از طریق نهادهاى بین المللى و حقوق بشرى پیگیرى کرده و به گوش دیگر کارگران جهان به خصوص بخش حمل و نقل برسانند . تا جهانیان بدانند که در کشور ما به هیچ وجه حقوق اساسى و انسانى ما کارگران و زحمتکشان رعایت نمیشود و کوچکترین اعتراض و درخواست ما با زندان، شکنجه و اذیت و آزار براى خودمان و خانواده های مان همراه است.

We do not need to introduce Mansour Osanloo to you. Mansour, an Iranian trade union activist, fought tirelessly trying to improve the appalling working conditions of bus drivers in Iran, nor do we need to explain how the situation is for many workers in Iran. Harassment, threats and fear of losing their jobs forces most people to remain silent. Those who do dare to speak up against unfairness are quickly silenced.

However, despite the regime’s efforts to keep the outside world out, people in Iran still manage to send news out. Over and over again we hear about how union leaders and members, are put through sham courts, charged for “acting against national security” and sentenced to years in prison where torture becomes a daily routine. Despite the risks, Mansour continued fighting for what he believed in and for this he spent almost four years in prison, under horrendous conditions. Although the situation seemed hopeless, Mansour was finally freed earlier this year.

We should be celebrating this great victory but this is not possible since Mansour’s brother is also in prison, purely for following the same steps of his brother and trying to improve the dreadful working conditions that he was surrounded by.

Attached is a letter we received from Afshin Osanloo (translated by Shadi Paveh, CFPPI-Public Relations) which gives more information about his, and many other workers’, situation in Iran right now.

We fear that if immediate action is not taken, Afshin’s situation will get worse, just as it has for so many other unionists in Iran. On behalf of Afshin we are asking ITF, ILO and all other unions to once again use their power to come together and put pressure on the regime in Iran to release Afshin whose only “crime” has been to fight for his and his colleagues basic rights.

The regime in Iran might be able to keep a single organisation out but no walls can withstand the force of the international trade union community.

A letter from AFSHIN OSANLOO, labor activist, from prison

I am Afshin Osanloo of the labor movement in Iran; I drive a transport truck between cities and am now in Gohardasht (Rajai Shahr) prison in Iran. In autumn of 2010, while resting in the dormitory for drivers in the passenger terminal, I was arrested by armed persons wearing casual clothing and not uniforms and was taken to Section 209 of Evin prison. For five months I was kept in solitary confinement and was interrogated and tortured. The tortures included beatings of the soles of my feet with cables, forcing me to run on the beaten feet which were covered in sores and cuts, gross verbal insults and swearing, weeklong interrogations-18 hours at a time, being beaten by a group of men which resulted in my ribs and some teeth to be broken. During these five months my family had no information about me whatsoever, and their inquiries were not answered. I was not even permitted one phone call to my elderly mother who also was suffering from my brother’s imprisonment (Mansour Osanloo, Chairman of Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company).

I am married and have two sons. When I first started my family I began working at the Construction Base at Khatam in the isolated, war torn provinces of Southern Iran on important projects in the name of a driver for 2 years. The work was hard labor, such as building dirt roads through the Karkhe River, making docks out of rocks in the Port of Mahshahr and building water pipes from Karkhe River all the way to Hamide in Ahwaz. The love for my country helped me endure being so far away from my family and I dismissed the sorrow.

After 2 years, all the drivers whether they were temporary hires or contract workers were let go. In 1997, I was hired by the bus Company of Tehran and worked 12 hour shifts both during the day and night on the busiest routes in the city. During the time that I worked at the unit, along with my most experienced and truly sincere co-workers, we tried to improve and modernize our working conditions and tried to prevent corruption at the expense of being humiliated/ridiculed by management and bosses from different sectors and regions and even the representatives of the Islamic Labor Council, we still pursued our outstanding arrears, bonuses, uniforms, prevention of hard, harmful and unsafe labor along with abolishment of temporary contracts, some of which had lasted 4-5 years.

Although we were not successful in many issues, and were seen as greedy, ungrateful workers by the higher ups, we still tried in any way we could. We were threatened with the loss of our jobs by the management.

Unfortunately, in 2001, while I was transferring passengers during my shift at work, I had an accident that sadly caused the death of another person. I asked my company’s insurance for assistance in the matter but after some talks between the insurance company and the family of the deceased the sum I was asked to pay was changed from 10 million to 18 million Tomans (Iranian currency). And the insurance company from work was legally exempt and not responsible.

My complaints to the Department of labor were of no use until the bosses of the company agreed to pay the entire sum conditional on my resignation. And since I did not have such large sum of money I was forced to resign, which caused me to lose the 4 years of seniority and experience I had in the field; not to mention the years of enduring the hard labor and the harsh conditions. This also dealt a large blow to my family. My wife who was pregnant at the time, suffered from a nervous breakdown. From that time onwards, I was busy working in Transportation and Shipping. The fact that this sector was owned privately, along with the lack of strong, independent unions and late paychecks made it hard for the drivers to make ends meet and they suffered from so many different work related issues. As a result, all of us were communicating about how to better our work situation.

I had four rules in my life for myself which I have lived by all my life: I was proud of my work, I tried to respect all my peers, loved my country and its people and served the society by bringing up my children well so that they could be useful.

After one year of being in prison without knowing my fate in sections 209 and 380, I was sentenced to 5 years in prison by branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court led by Judge Salevati (The Hanging Judge). In just a few minutes I was accused of being “a national threat to security” and was not given the right to be represented by a lawyer. I objected to the proceedings but there was no way at all for myself or my family to review or even see my file or my charges.

I was sentenced on baseless accusations and charges to five years, two of which I have already served. What did I do against national security? I had no political affiliations and did not belong to any organizations or groups and all my actions were legal and had to do with trade workers. The only crime I committed was pursuing workers’ rights and unions and arresting us is not going to stop us from wanting our rights. It is necessary to create legitimate, independent labor unions for legal rights that are in accordance with the Ministry of Labor.

And to provide job security, improved wages commensurate with the inflation rate, to prevent late payment of salary, permanent contracts between worker and employer, payment of social security by the government, insurance coverage for workers and to stop privatization of the transportation and shipping trade which are all privately owned in order to stop employers from taking advantage of the workers. If such issues are pursued by the police force and the Ministry of Transportation it will allow the trade business to run with accordance to the law. If these laws are implemented it will benefit public safety and increase productivity and the industry as a whole will be more profitable. My crime and all others like me are the same and repetitive on this issue.

These issues and problems are discussed among drivers and workers, and even amongst some honest and competent transport managers who work for the industry.

These issues should be first addressed to The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and also the International Labor Organization (ILO); who have always been sympathetic and have supported their brothers all across the world and who understand our pain and suffering. We want them to take this issue to the international bodies and communities and also to the human rights organizations. We want all other workers, especially those in transportation to hear how I and so many other workers have been unfairly and illegally convicted. We want you to tell them how in our country we have no labor or human rights, and how unjust and illegal it all is and how the smallest complaint about our working conditions causes us to be severely tortured and imprisoned.

In hopes of a better tomorrow for all.
